Charles Barkley Absolutely Lit Into The Cavs Players For How They Treated "Jim Beilein"
As the old ladies down at the pool hall say on Wednesday nights......BINGO!
Charles Barkley hit the nail on the head here. Couldn't have said it better myself. Well, I guess I could've, because I know that coach's name is John Beilein and not "Jim Beilein" like Barkley said, but still, you're preaching to the choir here, Chuck.
"What the Cavs players did to Beilein was ridiculous, unprofessional......I think the veterans on that team were not leaders......the young guys that can't play, think they're better than they are......and they tried to get that man fired. They got that man fired."
Was John Beilein a good fit in the NBA? Nope. There's no arguing that. But there's also no arguing that he's a good coach that knows basketball, and the Cavs roster is simply not good enough to act like they can't learn from him. He deserved more than 54 games before being run out of town by a group of players that are 14-40 and have decided that they control the organization. Their constant anonymous complaining and bullshit like blaring music with the word "thug" in it made it so uncomfortable that Beilein had to step down. They ran him out of town. A college record of 829 wins and 468 losses, with 41 years experience, and the 14-40 Cavs ran him out of town.
Here's a list of the complaints from the ultra-talented Cavs roster:
- We practice too hard
- We watch too much film
- We work on fundamentals too much
Are you kidding me? Here's my much shorter list of complaints:
- The Cavs are 14-40.
I mean, are we really talking about "too much fundamentals" with this group? We had 3 first round picks this year. We're young! What do you think you should be working on, boys? Michael Jordan said the Bulls were successful because they worked on fundamentals more than anyone else in the league. But the last place Cavs spend too much time on them? I hope the interim coach breaks out the super advanced, expert level basketball drills this week. Get us over the 15 win hump this season.
But even through all this bullshit, the reports are that John Beilein still met with the team and announced he was resigning in the most classy of ways. Credit to him for how he handled it. I would've been more inclined to use the approach Charles Barkley suggested:
"Ya'll are a bunch of damn losers, I'm going to get the hell outta here"
Man I love this guy. He's the only dude on television that can still say whatever he damn well pleases, which was on full display again last night, too.
"When white people get fired, it's called parting ways. When black people get fired, it's called getting fired"
Kinda funny…..
