Pats Fans Show Their True Colors Once Again During Deflategate

I wanna say a couple things before we get into all this.

1) This has nothing to do with footballs. I dont think the deflated balls actually made a difference. Not to the tune of 40 points. This is about Patriots fans reactions to Deflategate and how they walked right into every stereotype about them.

2) I understand every team has a loud, vocal minority that doesn’t represent an entire fan base. I realize every fan base has asshole fans, fair weather fans, sensitive fans, etc etc. But teams get labeled with stereotypes for a reason. Cardinals fans are labeled as the dicks who think they are better fans than everyone because thats what their fans stereotypically do the most. Yankees fans have their reputation of being smug dicks who talk about the past because thats what they do most. And at this point the Patriots fan base has to be the most sensitive, defensive, insecure fan base I’ve ever seen in my life, because thats what they do most.

The reaction last night on Twitter to Deflategate was nuts. I mean insane. All week I’ve been saying how blaming the balls is bush league and this shouldnt be a story and I still got Pats fans jumping down my throat at the slightest mention of a deflated football. Last nite all I asked was how much does a football weigh because Chirst Mortenson confused me saying the balls were each 2 pounds less and the instant reaction was “THE FOOTBALLS DIDNT CAUSE A 40 POINT BLOWOUT!” “HOW ARE THE FUCKING METS, LOSER!” One guy even asked me if I had ever “actually touched a football” as if we’re all fucking magicians able to tell pounds per square inch by touching the ball. Its gotten to the point where I think Pats fans are the ones talking about the deflated footballs the most. Its like they’re interested more in this story than any of the Pats haters. You got Boston.com writers spewing butthurt garbage all over the place. And you got every clown from Connecticut to Maine with a blog or a twitter account snapping at each and every person who even mentions a deflated football like a bunch of catty girls. But I guess thats what happens when you’re constantly caught cheating and need to constantly try to defend your team.

Because make no mistake about it, this is yet another instance of cheating. Not a big one. Nothing that I think needs this much attention. Like I said in this blog and all week long, its not the reason the Pats are in the Super Bowl and the Colts are at home. But facts are facts, the Pats bent/broke/violated a rule yet again for a competitive advantage. There’s no disputing that. There’s also no disputing that if the roles were reversed, the world would never hear the fucking end of it. Never. Ever. Again because Pats fans always show their true colors as a whiny, insecure bunch. If they had been blown out by a million but there was actual proof of the other team violating a rule, they would complain about it from now until approximately the end of time. The Colts would be classless cheaters, Goodell would be out to get them. It would be everyone else’s fault etcetera etcetera etfuckingcetera.

The Deflated Footballs is akin to pine tar in my mind. One of those things that a lot of guys and teams do pretty often. One of those things thats a little shady and a little scummy but you’re out there trying to get every advantage you can. Its not the end of the world and its not going to alter the outcome of an entire game (although in some cases a pitcher with pine tar absolutely can) but its cheating. Its against the rules. So the deal is, dont fucking get caught. Seriously at this point the Pats have established their image as a franchise that will play dirty and violate all sorts of rules to try to win on Sundays, just stop getting fucking caught you idiots.

And if you do keep getting caught, just own it. I saw a few fans last night saying they love the role of being the villain. Handful of guys saying “if you aint cheatin you aint tryin.” Thats what Feits did on the blog last night. He reacted how you should if you’re a Pats fan. “Dont care.” But the rest of the butthurt, defensive, crybaby bunch are just walking stereotypes of New England football fans. Cant ever own up to anything. Always convinced the world is out to get you when really its that you keep doing scummy shit. Constantly trying to defend your team as to why you’re still “classy” or why your questionable tactics should just be accepted as OK. The mere mention of your team’s name sparks this catty, defensive homerism because you’re as sensitive as a girls softball team where all of their menstrual cycles have coordinated and they’ve all got their period at the same time. “Everybody else does it!” “It didnt really affect the game!” “It wasnt every ball!” “They stopped at half time!” Christ almighty, shut the fuck up. Like arguing with a woman when she knows shes wrong and is just throwing out every argument possible to hear herself talk.

Bottom line is you can’t play the “You hate us cause you aint us” card and act like you’re the bad boys above it all if you’re gonna be whiny and defensive all the time. Cant have it both ways. Just own being the lowlife scumbag team because constantly trying to defend against is probably exhausting and definitely makes you look like bitches.

PS – The talk about not sending the Pats to the Super Bowl and that clown who said Kraft should fire Belichick are just as bad. They’re the other extreme on the other side of the spectrum from the insecure defensive blind homer Pats fans. Just be somewhere in the middle and admit that this was cheating, but its not that big of a deal. Why is that so hard?
