Colin Kaepernick Turned Down XFL After They Didn't Meet His "Exorbitant" Demands

The XFL had themselves a pretty good opening weekend. The football quality needs to improve, but they did show a hunger for football after the NFL season ended.

One thing that could help the XFL keep their ratings and interest high would be a star player. Think Johnny Manziel. Maybe Colin Kaepernick? Unfortunately, the former 49ers QB does not seem to be coming to the XFL anytime soon:

SOURCE-The XFL officially kicked off this past weekend and the former San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback Colin Kaepernick, didn’t take part.

According to the XFL commissioner Oliver Luck, the pair had met prior to the season to discuss possible opportunities to play this season.

“We gave it some thought,” Luck said. “We have some pretty significant salary restrictions, you know. We’re a start-up league, so we want to make sure that we can be fiscally responsible and fiscally prudent. And the, you know, salary requirements that some folks, you know, shared with us were in our case exorbitant, so we, you know, couldn’t go down that path.”

There are two sides to this story. One is that, of course, Colin Kaepernick is worth more than the 50k that Joe Schmo on the Renegades makes. The second, is that if Colin Kaepernick is truly devoted to making it back to the NFL like he says he is, he would find a way to make it work...right?

I'd love to see Kaepernick in the XFL. It would be must-watch TV every week. I'd even argue the XFL should consider throwing the bag at him...it may be worth it. Kaepernick is a star. No other way to put it. He puts asses in the seats regardless of your politics. I'd assume he's still pretty good at football too.
