So Close...Kinda

Well the fight was certainly there for a while. The G-Men hung with the defending champs for 3 quarters with opportunistic defense and enough protection for Eli to team up with ODB & Preston Parker to move the ball. The Seahawks proved to be too much though in the end. Despite a big time goal line stand by Big Blue to keep the game knotted at 17, you could feel the momentum start to slowly slip away. After converting a couple first downs, Eli made a questionable decision to sling the ball 40 yards downfield & turned ODB into a d-back. He couldn’t knock the ball down though & it was picked off, setting up the Hawks for what turned out to be the game-winning drive. With a little bit of life left, Demps & JPP were able to force a couple of fumbles on the following Seattle possession that the G-Men couldn’t fall on. So Beast Mode shoved his 4th touchdown right down their throats.

Tough to win a game without more takeaways if you’re gonna surrender 350 yards on the ground when you’re getting 324 total. To put that in perspective, that’s the most the Giants have allowed in 36 years. That’s bad. There was still some good though – namely Beckham’s first half showing no fear against Richard Sherman & the Legion of Boom. Kid is gonna be an absolute stud and it’s awesome to see he’s got that fire to go against the best without giving an inch. The game didn’t end pretty but the final score is a little deceiving. The G-Men lost to a far superior team but proved they’re not a squad to look past. At this point, between injuries and lack of talent/experience, all you can ask for is that they fight & stay competitive the rest of the way. They did that today.
