Michael Strahan Revealed That The Giants Will Retire His Number 92 Next Season

To be honest, I figured the Giants probably retired Michael Strahan's jersey at some point after he got inducted to the Hall of Fame because getting that gold jackets usually comes with a bukakke of accolades from your old team, especially when you are the franchise's all-time sack leader, registered the 6th most sacks in NFL history, and hold the record for most sacks in an NFL season (h/t Brett Favre). But it turns out that number 92 was technically still up for grabs even though nobody has been given the green light to wear it since Strahan took it off shortly after the greatest speech in the history of mankind was delivered.

Which makes me thrilled. Not just because seeing the Number 92 at the giant air conditioner named MetLife Stadium will remind me of one of the greatest Giants of all-time as well as the best moment I have ever lived through as a sports fan. But because I never have to see 92 (or 10) on another member of Big Blue ever again like we did with Fake Bradshaw and Fake Osi which was just weird on some Fake Diesel + Razor Ramon shit.

#NeverForget

This is the part of the blog where I would say how Strahan almost deserves to have his number immortalized because he is essentially living the life that his old rival Tiki Barber was hoping to live as an A-List celebrity that is involved in more gigs than anyone this side of Ryan Seacrest. But since Tiki pretty much broke the news about Steve Cohen taking over the Mets, I will not mention it here since it's all water under the bridge and Tiki has been forgiven.

So instead I'll stomp out that last paragraph and congratulate one of the greatest pass rushers of all-time that I was spoiled watching during my formative years because it is clear that pass rushers like Strahan (or Osi or Tuck) are NOT easy to find.
