Frozen Pizza Fight To The Death: Jack's Vs. Tombstone

Lotta frozen pie talk going around lately because it's that time of the year when it's just easy to load up the freezer. Not saying you abandon frozen pizza at other times in the year, but realistically speaking January and February are high season for the real enthusiasts. Just way easier and more practical to load up the freezer at home, especially if you have access to such bold variety:

But for now, we're going to keep the conversation very simple because I understand frozen pizza people fall into blanket subcategories:

- Home Run Inn loyalists

- Red Barons

- Regional players - something you can only get in your part of the country. I've heard from so many of you after posting the original tweet so I want to give you your due respect, but understand your pies are too unique so you all you get lumped together like the Protestants.

- BUDGET THIN CRUST SOLD BY THE BOX:

There's definitely more, but for now that's enough to get the picture: we want to segment our frozen pie talk so as to focus the conversation on one specific match-up. I don't want to invoke the wrath of one group over the other. I'm just simply asking we all put our heads together on one of those categories to think about one of the biggest matchups in the food game, PERIOD.

VS

The two most notable budget pizzas in the game. Walmart currently has Tombstone around $4 a pop with Jacks coming in at $2.50, so you love both price points but don't want to use it as a reason to argue one over the other as to not look poor. If you did, Tombstone loyalists would say the extra $1.50 is devoted to a thicker crust. The Jack's people counter that the thinner crust is made for one serving while making it perfect for the grill. Can you even grill a Tombstone?

Yes

But it's the appeal that Jacks WANTS you to grill the pizza. You appreciate that pride and straightforwardness.

Tombstone on the other hand wants you to focus on the density of toppings. There's more in each bite as evidenced by the calorie count, but it's for good reason: thicker pepperoni, more sausage, larger stacks of shredded chee.

Personally, I lean Jacks in the head to head because I like simplicity of a one-serving pizza. I know this sounds backwards, but I feel less disgusted with myself when I easily polish it off vs. leaving half out on the counter because I was too big of a pussy to muscle through 2,000 calories.

End of the day though it's up to you guys, and quite frankly it's been a downright slugfest in the polls.

Tombstone has fought so valiantly, but just can't get over the hump. Trailing by about 500 votes with a little under 7 hours left to play, I just don't see them getting the majority back. So credit to Jacks for showing up in such a tight race, you guys are definitely loyal to the brand and the budget. All I ask is that you guys show each other respect. Not saying things were ugly yesterday but you guys definitely have your opinions:
