The Difference In The NBA's Numbers During David Stern's First Year As Commissioner And His Last Year As Commissioner Are Preposterous

Straight. Cash. Homie. There has been plenty written and said about David Stern since he passed away last night. But nothing hammers home just how huge his impact was than those numbers. Yeah Stern had unbelievable good fortune in getting an influx of super talented players like Michael, Magic, and Bird. However taking those three megastars, along with maybe freezing an envelope to get the biggest college hoops star in the planet in New York, and turning the league's revenue $165 million to $5.5 BILLION is ridiculous. That would be like Portnoy taking a free newspaper he made in a basement and turning it into a multimillion dollar media empire after hiring the likes of Big Cat, KFC, and KMarko. Did I just compare my boss to perhaps the greatest commissioner the world has ever seen? You are goddamn right I did. You guys heard how fired up he was before Christmas break, so I'm looking to get on Dave's good side in the new year and comparing him to a dude that turned the NBA into an international powerhouse that not only increased its TV deals 74 times what they were when he took over but also played the greatest sports villain this side of Vince McMahon is about as nice a compliment as I can pay someone.

Oh yeah and without David Stern, there is almost definitely no NBA On NBC which means this video/song would never exist, which pretty much makes David Stern the most important person to ever walk God's green Earth.

RIP to a legend.
