Henry Cejudo Stripped Of UFC Flyweight Championship - Joe Benavidez Finally Gets His Title Shot!

After months and months and months of flaunting his UFC Flyweight and Bantamweight Championships around (along with his Olympic Gold Medal, of course) and promising to be an active champion in both divisions, Henry Cejudo's Flyweight Championship reign has come to an end. He's deciding to (dodge  pursue a Bantamweight Championship reign exclusively, beginning with a fight against Jose Aldo - who's coming off back-to-back losses - which was provoked in the most "Triple C" way possible...

The UFC is now stripping him of his Flyweight Championship and moving on with Joseph Benavidez vs Deiveson Figueiredo for the belt. I've been a longtime advocate for the Flyweight Division, being they produce tremendous fights constantly, and just don't get given a chance to shine nowadays, and I'm here to tell you that this is an AWESOME matchup. 

Benavidez everybody probably knows by now - he's a killer and has been forever, he's 9-1 in his last 10, he's coming off a crazy impressive TKO finish of Jussier Formiga - and he's the best dude I've ever met in this sport. Both Joe and his wife Megan Olivi (UFC/NFL Host and Broadcaster) are just the sweetest, kindest, and most genuine people the world has to offer, and I think the fans have taken note of that over the years, because the response from the fans to all of this news has pretty much been: "OH MY GOD! JOE COULD GET HIS CHAMPIONSHIP!", and that warms my god damn heart. He deserves all of that love so much.

Not as many people know Figueiredo, but he's definitely worthy of this title shot as well. Dude is 17-1 overall (6-1 in the UFC) and he choked Tim Elliot out in the first round of his last fight. I'm not gonna pump his tires too much tho because that's the other side and in the words of Nate Diaz: "Fuck the other side."

I'll be in Norfolk in support of Joe B without a doubt, hoping he brings that title home to Benny, and I think you guys could expect some good content around this bout in the build. I'll get Joe back on My Mom's Basement to hype it up and we'll have some fun.
