Jackass Is Apparently Making A Comeback
Tremaine directed the last three movies in addition to Knoxville comedy Bad Grandpa, which grossed $151.8M back in the fall of 2013 and was billed as a ‘Jackass presents’ production."
I LOVED jackass when I was growing up. Doing stupid shit with your friends was and is a very common man concept that spoke to me heavily as preteen. I even religiously watched 'Wildboyz', the Steve-O and Chris Pontius spinoff nature show. That said, I don't really know how I feel about this. The content and delivery of jackass was lightning in a bottle, and I think a lot of what they offered was sort of made obsolete by the internet. Like, I can go watch a billion jackass-type videos on youtube, tiktok, twitter etc. It's definitely possible to do something different maybe in scale where what's done in the movie is something you can't find on the internet, but it will be hard. Also, not that it really has to be said, but they can't really return the old crew. Besides being older now, a lot of them are also going through personal life shit. By the way, big props to Steve-O who has turned his life ENTIRELY around. So I think where I stand is that I'm happy if the boys are making some money out of it, but I need to know more before knowing how to feel about it from an entertainment standpoint.
