OBJ Would Like The World To Know That He Is HAPPY In Cleveland

Alright so yesterday the entire world somehow transformed the video above into a direct statement from Odell Beckham Jr that he is unhappy in Cleveland and he wants out. National news. OBJ is fed up. He's done.

FIRST OF ALL, those are two very unrelated conclusions. It is completely okay to be unhappy in Cleveland. There is not one person on Earth that is happy to be in northeast Ohio. I mean, I'm probably the biggest Ohio sports homer there is, but Cleveland is about 500th on my places I wish I lived. I tolerate it and defend it, but I live here because I was born and raised here.

As for the second one, "wants out" is a very serious statement. When OBJ wants out, well it's over. When he wanted out of New York, it was a Barnum and Bailey Circus. But until he says that or until he gets traded, I'm not believing it. I'm no English teacher but "wants out" is not how I interpreted that presser. And apparently OBJ agrees. This morning he took to his Twitter to clear the air from what the stupid Cleveland reporters were stirring up yesterday:

Well there you have it. Confirmed: OBJ is retiring a Cleveland Brown.

But in all honesty, anyone that can't see what's going on here is an absolute idiot. It's as clear as day. Winning cures everything. If the Browns were winning, OBJ would absolutely love to play here with his buddy Jarvis and a fiery, cool QB like Baker Mayfield. But the Browns aren't winning, and it's embarrassing for him. So is he happy to be here? No, of course not. And he's probably not the only one feeling a little uneasy, either. The Browns can't be happy paying him $16.5 million to catch 2 touchdowns on a 5-7 team. So the question is: is either side going to make a move?

I hope not. I hope we give it one more chance. At the end of the day, through the completely embarrassing season, we still have a really talented offense and a really talented defense. Not every team in the NFL can say that. So if we can get the QB and Head Coach to be consistently good, having OBJ on your team does not hurt. As long as he doesn't want out.
