Mulan Is Back In The New Trailer For The Live-Action Remake
'Mulan' is one of my favorite Disney animated movies ever made. There's fantastic music (I'll Make A Man Out Of You is a top 1 Disney banger), great fight scenes and great dialogue/friendship between Mulan and Mushu. This movie doesn't really look like it captures that original magic from what we can see. I want to note, though, that there isn't anything necessarily wrong with that. They're taking a much more traditional route at telling the Hua Mulan story, which is a legit legend that was not as happy-go-lucky as the animated movie may suggest. I hope this turns out good, but I'm not expecting something shot-for-shot similar to the movie I love. That might be for the best, by the way, since the live action Lion King was shot-for-shot and it was a total bore. This movie stars Yifei Liu, who is under the gun after backing the Hong Kong police. Yikes! It walso stars a pair of legends in Donnie Yen (IP Man) and Jet Li (Unleashed) as well as Li Gong (Memoirs of a Geisha), Jason Scott Lee (Soldier) and Ron Yuan (Marco Polo). Niki Caro (McFarland, USA) directed and the screenplay is by committee. The expected release is March 27th 2020.
Oh and I can't mention Donnie Yen without showing this scene
