Giving All The Fans In Attendance Tonight Their Own Replica Championship Ring Is A Great Move By The Raptors
Big night tonight for the Raptors and their fans as they not only see their first championship banner raised to the rafters and the players get their rings, but it appears the fans in attendance will not only get that sweet shirt but their very own replica ring to go along with it. Awesome move by the organization and frankly a no brainer considering who knows if they'll ever reach the top of the mountain again. There's truly nothing like seeing your favorite basketball team raise the banner to the rafters, I remember watching that shit in 2008 and balling like a goddamn baby. Being molded by the 90s era Celtics, I honestly felt like I would never see a Celts championship in my lifetime. Even with all the other success in Boston when they finally won, it meant more to me. To this day over a decade later it's still one of the best experiences of my entire life. I don't care if that's weird, it's the truth. I imagine Raptors fans will have a very similar feeling tonight given their postseason history prior to last year.
Seeing as how it's such a huge night, the team is keeping the design of this ring a secret. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a single credible leak. As you can see here, nobody knows
I expect them to go all in given the circumstances especially after the Warriors sort of took the championship ring to a new level during their run. You may think replica rings are lame but that's probably just because your favorite team has never won one. I remember working for the Colorado Rapids selling season tickets out of college in 2010 when they won the MLS cup and we all got our own rings and it was awesome. Even the ones the Sox have given out over the years to those in attendance are just cool to have. It's not every day your favorite team wins a championship, sometimes you can go a lifetime without ever seeing it. Having any sort of memorabilia of it is very cool in my opinion.
Once TOR won people put an asterisk next to their title and all that bullshit because the Warriors were hurt and I found that to be pretty weak. It's not TOR's fault guys got hurt. You play who is in front of you and you know who isn't going to give a single shit that they played a weakened Warriors team? Every single person in the Scotiabank Arena when that banner is being raised.
