Conor McGregor Is Facing Yet Another Sexual Assault Investigation In Ireland

The New York Times- Conor McGregor, one of the biggest stars of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is being investigated over a sexual assault allegation, the second such case in less than 12 months, according to people familiar with the matter.

The most recent allegation relates to a complaint that a woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted in a vehicle parked outside a Dublin pub last week, according to the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of Irish laws surrounding investigations. McGregor, a 31-year-old mixed martial arts fighter who is one of the world’s highest-paid athletes, has not been charged, and the police have yet to interview him about the allegation. He was already waiting to hear whether he would be charged following a complaint that he assaulted a woman in Dublin last December.

The police passed the findings of the investigation in the first case to Ireland’s prosecutor’s office earlier this year. McGregor was arrested in January, questioned by law enforcement authorities and released pending further investigation, per the usual protocol in criminal investigations in Ireland and much of the rest of Europe, where a formal charge does not necessarily follow an arrest.

The allegations have not been proved, and the existence of the investigations does not imply that McGregor is guilty of any crime.

“Conor McGregor is frequently the subject of rumors,” a publicist for the fighter said in an emailed statement. “He emphatically denies any report accusing him of sexual assault.”

A lawyer for McGregor in Dublin did not respond to messages seeking comment.

In August, five months after The New York Times first named McGregor in connection with the first sexual assault allegation, White said he knew “zero” about it, before adding: “To be honest with you, the back-and-forth that I’ve had with him about that is that it’s not him — it’s somebody else. So I don’t know.”

I really wish this would stop happening.

According to The New York Times, Conor McGregor is now under investigation for a second sexual assault case in less than twelve months; this incident allegedly taking place just last week outside a Dublin pub. Much like the last incident, I caught wind of this being a possibility through the grapevine of DMs, Irish message boards, and a couple WhatsApp groups, but couldn’t really comment on it until a much bigger outlet (like The New York Times) publicized and confirmed it.

It fucking sucks, as a Conor McGregor fan who wanted to see the former two-weight world champ get his life back together in the midst of a very public tailspin, but I can’t call it surprising anymore. I ain’t shocked. My heart didn’t drop when I read this news, stunned that my once hero could do such a thing – I’m just pissed off. Pissed off that Conor can’t just hang back with his family on the weekends, like his Instagram suggests he’s doing. Pissed off that Conor ain’t at the gym on the weekends, ultra-hungry for a fight, like he said he was to Ariel Helwani weeks ago. Pissed off that he’s still – at the VERY least – surrounding himself with HORRIBLE influences (and probably yes men) who are doing nothing but allowing him to be in the wrong place at the wrong time CONSTANTLY.

Most of all, I’m pissed off that this is what has become of that young and hungry fighter I fell in love with as a fan years ago.

I’ve been catching it from all sides over the past few months over this shit. McGregor’s ultra diehards absolutely hate me for “turning” on Conor, and everyone else is upset at me for “defending” Conor and “excusing his behavior”. Sorta like how half of people think Barstool is nothing but a buncha LibCuck Snowflakes and the other half views as Right Wing Central for Republicans & Only Republicans.

Allow me to repeat what I said in my previous blog about Conor McGregor’s ongoing sexual assault charge…

This should go without saying, but because people will ask, I’ll answer: in the horrific scenario in which these rumors are true, and McGregor was involved in this assault, he will absolutely not have my support going forward. I do still have some faith and trust in the person I’ve grown to admire over the past few years, though, and am extremely grateful for everything he and his team have done for me both professionally and personally. I’ll wait to cast total judgement until all facts and evidence are revealed.

…that’s my stance.

If it’s true – I’m out. If it’s not – I’m not. Right now, I just really wish this would stop happening.
