Houston Senior Calls Out Dana Holgorsen For Tanking 2019 Season In Interesting Twitter Thread

The tweet above is from Justin Murphy. He (used to) play offensive line for the Houston Cougars. In the above tweet, he mentions that he is a part of the first college football team to actively tank. That is in reference to D’Eriq King redshirting this season in an attempt to save a year of eligibility for next season:

Murphy went on in this thread:

Now THIS is a very interesting accusation. If it is true, that’s a hell of a move by Dana. I don’t know if that is legal within the NCAA, if it is not, I’m sure the NCAA would investigate.

Seniors who are experiencing a new coach are always in a tough situation. It’s a new system and a new culture. You aren’t thought of as important as players that will return in year 2 and year 3 of the coaches tenure, because that’s the players that will truly tell if the coach is worth keeping around. It’s a cold, cold world.

Great, great comparison.

These are all allegations at this point. However, they are damning against Dana.

For a team that was thought of as an AAC contender coming into the season, Houston has had a hell of a first 6 weeks.
