Klay Thompson Is Picking Up Right Where Kevin Durant Left Off By Roasting The Shit Out Of Draymond Green

Poor Draymond Green. He finally doesn’t have to deal with any of the drama surrounding him and Kevin Durant, he’s entering the season feeling good due to his brand new 4/99.6M extension and the season hasn’t even started yet and he’s already getting roasted by Klay Thompson. I mean look, he might not like it, but I see no lies in this comment by Klay. Since the 2015-16 season where Draymond put up a very respectable 38% from deep on 3.2 3PA a night, here’s how things have looked

2016-17: 30% on 3.5 3PA
2017-18: 30% on 3.7 3PA
2018-19: 28% on 2.5 3PA

Not great! Couldn’t be more anti-splash if he tried. Listen Draymond Green is really good in a ton of areas, his defense is ridiculous, he’s a tremendous passer, and nobody unleashes mental warfare on their opponents better. But he’ll never be confused for a Splash Brother that’s for damn sure. With Klay Thompson confirmed out until at least the All Star break

I am very much in favor of him using his time off to roast his teammates. If Durant did this he’d be viewed as an asshole but everyone loves Klay Thompson so it’s all in good fun. I will say I had no idea it was so easy to earn your splash moniker considering DLo only shot 36% last season (his best ever) and is a career 35% three point shooter. I feel like he hasn’t earned his splashiness yet. You compare that to Curry (43%) and Klay (42%) and he still has a ways to go in my opinion. To his credit he was 9th last year in 3PM with 234 which was close to Klay’s 241 (6th) but just a few behind Curry’s 354 (2nd).

Poor Draymond though. You know deep down he wishes he could shoot like his teammates but the evidence suggests that ship has sailed. NBA clap backs are all the rage right now so I look forward to seeing how Draymond handles being the butt of a joke. Something tells me not great.
