The Orlando Magic Released A Markelle Fultz Hype Video And His Jump Shot Looks......Fixed?
In what has to be one of the most bizarre starts to an NBA career for not just a #1 pick but honestly for any NBA player, a few weeks ago the Magic showed just how committed they were to Markelle Fultz when they pulled this move
They didn’t have to pick up this option, they could have waited to see how he looked this season, but with DJ Augustine in the last year of his deal it’s pretty apparent the Magic are all in on Fultz. As we know, the biggest question about him has to be if his jump shot could be fixed and if he could remember how to play basketball, and earlier this summer we had some video evidence that suggested things were actually getting better but that video by the Magic is by far the best we’ve seen him look shooting a basketball in years. It may not be picture perfect, nobody is going to mistake that form for Ray Allen, but it’s absolutely a step in the right direction. They have to be feeling pretty confident about Fultz to put a video like this out, and honestly it’s great to see. It looks like that weird hitch is gone, things look so much more fluid and I mean it’s no accident this video has a ton of slow motion close ups of his jump shot. This to me is their way of letting everyone know that they did the impossible, they fixed his jumper. I mean that’s a million times better looking than this disaster
At this point, if you aren’t rooting for Fultz you’re kind of an asshole. Pretty much everyone was all in on him coming out of college and just because he got the Sixers stench on him that shouldn’t be held against him. It’s not entirely shocking they fucked up handling an injury/developing a high lottery pick. That’s sort of their thing. But now with a fresh start and new coaches maybe this change in scenary is exactly what Fultz needed to save his career. There have been moments where he’s shown flashes
and now that his jumper looks a billion times better it wouldn’t shock me at all if he actually proved he can play at this level. A huge part of that is the mental aspect of basketball, and if that’s all sorted out and his form is truly fixed, this Magic team just got a little bit more interesting.
