David Wilson Says Giants Fans Are Irrelevant To Him

NY Post – David Wilson did not have much to say in the wee hours late Sunday night after his two fumbles contributed mightily to the Giants’ season-opening, 36-31 loss to the Cowboys.  Wilson made himself available in the locker room, took a few questions and barely two minutes later was gone, saying he didn’t have much to say. On Monday, one day removed from his very difficult 2013 debut, he took to Twitter to insist his terrible performance did not get him down. “Don’t think for a second I’m down on myself,’’ he wrote. “Everything happens for a reason. I’m too blessed. Wouldn’t be life if I didn’t have no obstacles.’’ Well, Wilson must not have liked what he read from some of his nearly 48,000 Twitter followers. Wilson posted again on Tuesday night, this time responding to his critics.

Reason number 4,569,237 why my very first rule if I was a GM would be banning twitter. First order of business, ban twitter. Second order, ban motorcycles. But twitter first. Because absolutely NOTHING GOOD can ever come from twitter. Nothing. It causes nothing but trouble. All risk, no reward. Even a situation like this, which is really completely harmless and kind of taken out of context, is now headline news in NYC and a headache the entire locker room will probably be asked about in one form or another.

David Wilson completely fed up with Twitter trolls and haters tells “pissed Giants fans” to fuck off and says nothing will stop him from succeeding. There should be absolutely nothing wrong with that. But of course thats spun by the media as “David Wilson says Giants Fans are irrelevant.” “David Wilson hates Giants fans.” Should a professional athlete have enough stones to ignore trolls and stay above the fray and not take the bait? Of course. Thats like Pro Athlete 101. Keep your composure. But its only human to respond to the doubters and the detractors. Thats only natural for a competitor that made it this far.

But he should respond on the field, obviously. Hit the gym bro. Watch game tape. Talk to that asshole Tiki Barber about how to stop putting the ball on the carpet. Get off twitter. Obviously thats hard because black folks just fucking love to tweet. So thats why GM KFC just bans that shit. Make it simple. You wanna get paid you can’t tweet. Take away the temptation to make an ass of yourself and bring the team unnecessary drama.

PS – He followed up with this tweet
