The FOUNDER OF THE NATION'S LARGEST CONVERSION THERAPY ORGANIZATION Comes Out As Gay, Apologizes For Being A Dick
Source - The founder of one of the nation’s largest conversion therapy programs, who spent decades leading the organization, now says he is gay, apologizing for his role in the practice.
McKrae Game, who founded and led Hope for Wholeness in South Carolina, publicly announced he was gay in early June, more than two years after the organization’s board of directors abruptly fired him.
In a Facebook post last week, Game, 51, said he was “wrong,” adding: “Please forgive me.”
I honestly don’t even know where to start. Mein Kampf is easier to digest than this guy’s Facebook post, so here are the best parts:
“I certainly regret where I caused harm,” he wrote. “Promoting the triadic model that blamed parents and conversion or prayer therapy, that made many people believe that their orientation was wrong, bad, sinful, evil, and worse that they could change was absolutely harmful.”
“It’s all in my past, but many, way TOO MANY continue believing that there is something wrong with themselves and wrong with people that choose to live their lives honestly and open as gay, lesbian, trans, etc.,” he added. “Learn to love yourself and others.”
The very harmful cycle of self shame and condemnation has to stop. It’s literally killing people!! Learn to love. Learn to love yourself and others. ❤️
Seems like he’s really done a one-eighty. I’m going to post the YouTube video of him explaining himself so you can determine whether or not you think he’s being disingenuous.
No matter what you think, it’s important to remember exactly what McKrae Game said towards the end of the video (4:15), “We have harmed generations of people. We’ve done wrong. We need to net our wrongs and do what we can do to stop the wrongs from continuing to happen.” Is he the person to do that? Absolutely not. Someone who’s knowingly done as much wrong as McKrae Game can’t be trusted to do right. Ever. When you think about it, he’s spent his entire adult life trying to bring people much stronger than him down to his level. He used the fear of religion and the threat of exile to play into his victims’ worst fears. You can blame his behavior on his environment if you want, but sometimes it’s easier to just call someone a bad person and be done with it, because despite was McKrae Game says, no amount of penance will change who he is. He’ll always be a manipulative, deceitful, conman who puts his own self interest ahead of the well being of others.
The only person who could possibly understand his plight is David Matheson, the ‘intellection godfather of conversion therapy’ who also came out as gay last winter. I wrote about him back in January.
The two of them should sit down and try and convert each other back to being straight because we don’t want them. In the words of Rick Ross, “God forgives, I don’t.” Good riddance.
