CBS“To see your life through the eyes of others, man, that’s a bitch,” Taylor said. “That’s hard to handle. It’s very humbling. I really apologize to the people that I harmed, especially my kids. That was very humbling.” While the documentary will showcase the former Hall of Famer’s career and just how damn good he was as a player, Taylor isn’t the first to recognize that he’s had his fair share of problems off the field. Now, he gets to hear how those actions impacted those around him. “Just watching this film and reflecting back, to see yourself through other people’s eyes, is very humbling,” Taylor said.” I never knew that my kids felt that way, or family members felt that way, or my teammates felt that way.” “Rehashing the past comes up a lot when people do documentaries,” he said. “There’s a point, when something has happened a long time ago, that you really don’t want to bring it back up or make it fresh in anybody’s mind. You just want to cruise over it and not think about it anymore. There were a lot of times that stuff came up and I didn’t want to go through it again. I’m at the stage now, that I really don’t mind talking about a lot of things that happened in my past because it’s all in my past and I don’t worry about it. I’m at a different stage than I would have been like 15 or 20 years ago.”

He’s also a fucking maniac, which I guess he kinda had to be. For most 20-something Stoolies though, their first exposure to LT was probably this:

Well, set your DVRs for Showtime tonight @ 8pm and find a way to make this appointment hangover television. Rookie of the Year, unanimous MVP, two-time Super Bowl champ, leg-snapper & career-ender…LT even took down Bam Bam Bigelow at Wrestlemania. Hard to find a more dominant athlete. But I want to see exactly how crazy he was off the field. I want to hear stories. Specifics. I want to live vicariously through a pro athlete who ran the greatest city on Earth for an entire decade. Sure, it’ll be cool to hear from guys like Belichick & Parcells and how LT put them on the map. It’ll be even cooler to hear from his friends, teammates, reporters and whoever else has the inside scoop on the booze, blow, pussy & however the fuck he managed to party so hard yet play so great. If you want to know what a legend really is, don’t miss this.
