Jersey Shore Part 2: The Daughter Of The Philly Mayor And A Daughter Of A New Jersey Councilwoman Got Into A Brawl In Wildwood
Philly Voice – The daughters of Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and a North Wildwood councilwoman were arrested early Sunday morning after getting into a fight in North Wildwood.
[The two] were arrested at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday in the nightclub district of North Wildwood, near Chestnut and Olde New Jersey avenues. The fight was witnessed by two local officers who were on duty patroling that evening, N.J. Advance Media reports.
I feel like anywhere else in the world, this probably goes down as a political scandal. To have the daughter of a mayor in a major city get into a brawl outside of a bar at 1:40am? That’s a political nightmare for almost anybody. But in Philly and the Jersey Shore….?
Shit, man. That right there proves to me that Mayor Kenney deserves another term. I mean if you’re leaving Wildwood without getting in at least one little rumble, that means you’re doing something wrong. Let he or she who has never once got into a little “altercation” at the Jersey Shore cast the first stone. It’s essentially a rite of passage, and I’m sure that the judge will see it that way when these two ladies go to court. It doesn’t matter if your dad is the mayor. It doesn’t matter if your mom is a councilwoman. You’re out late night in Wildwood and that means it’s Rumble ‘O Clock. I didn’t go to law school but even I know that both of these two are innocent as heck.
So give Mayor Kenney another term. Give this New Jersey Councilwoman another term. I like my politicians to be relatable human beings. And what’s more relatable than a parent getting that phone call at 2 in the morning to find out that your kid got into a little scuffle at the Jersey Shore? Nothing at all, that’s what. 4 more years! 4 more years!
