Marcus Stroman Just Called The Jays Out On Their Bullshit With Fake Reports Of Contact Negotiations Happening: "That's News To Me"

15 years ago, in the pre-Twitter days you could get away with spreading fake news in trade/contract negotiations. You could easily get teams to up their trade offer by simply telling them you’re talking with player x about an extension and it’ll take a big offer to get him. Yeah, not in 2019. The Jays clearly tried to leak fake news about sitting Stro down in contract extension talks. Funny thing is, that never happened. Stroman just called them out for their bullshit and won’t let it go on any further.

They did the same with Jose Bautista when he was up for his extension a few years ago. The story I was told is that Joey and his agent were sitting down watching TV as reports came out that they asked for $125 million and not a dollar less. Jose wanted around $80 million actually and loved the city of Toronto. The front office decided to alienate him. That was all fabricated by the Jays to get him out of town. As Marty Mush would say, such a trash bag organization that could not be more anti-player if they tried.

I love Marcus. Get him in pinstripes yesterday.
