Ranking The Top Five Things In North Carolina: #3

****With Rough N Rowdy returning to North Carolina this Friday, this week I’m counting down the best five things about the Tar Heel state. Yesterday Texas Pete came in at #4. Today we move onto #3.****

#3 CAROLINA PANTHERS STATUE

Veiny, bulbous, and domineering, the statue of the Panther outside of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte looks like it’s in the pre-injury phase of crossfit. Setting your eyes on this fixture alone makes you feel like you are on DMT leaving the DMV while listening to DMX. Unlike the Joe Paterno statue which melted under pressure, the Panther has remained a permanent fixture in Charlotte through thick and thin. However— to be fair to Joe Pa—when someone closely affiliated with it starting giving his balls to kids, it didn’t say anything either.

Technically, we have to share the Carolina Panther football team with South Carolina since I guess they can’t afford one, BUT the Panther itself is permanently rooted on North Carolina soil and therefor only belongs to us. In fact, a lot of times I like to think about the Panther statue as a modern day moat that deters South Carolina people from attending home games. The last thing you want when you are trying to intimidate in-division opponents is a bachelorette party from Charleston.

I could go on but after writing 3,000 words on #4 Texas Pete yesterday and realizing nobody reads that much I’ll save my breath. Don’t forget, Rough N Rowdy returns to the Tar Heel state this Friday night. If you can’t make it out to Fort Bragg then buy the pay per view below.
