Russell Westbrook to The Cavs.....Who Says No?
So obviously Russell Westbrook needs to be traded out of Oklahoma City. Him and Steven Adams are both sucking up $25 million and $40 million each for the next couple years, and they’re in rebuild mode. He’s on the market, and he’s probably going to be traded before the season starts. And folks, call me crazy if you’re uneducated, but I think the Cavs have both the resources to get the job done, as well as Cleveland being the best fit for Russ to come play with his college teammate Kevin Love and compete for championships the next four years.
Here’s my proposal:
**If you’re freaking out that it’s not enough (which it is), we can toss in more 1st rounders if necessary (which we have).
Okay, I’ll be honest I tried to hit it out of the park here by adding Steven Adams, but they won’t want his contract either anymore. SERIOUSLY, who says no?? It certainly wouldn’t be the Cavs because they’d go from worst to first in the Eastern Conference immediately, while still keeping all three first round picks they just made. And I don’t think the Thunder can turn this one down either? I mean, they add two more first rounders in 2022, Collin Sexton who was just All NBA Rookie 2nd Team, and 4 players that come off the books next year. Yeah, they can rebuild if they want, but they’ll have like 9 first rounders going forward and a billion dollars in salary cap space. They could sign the next big 3, they could take 9 swings for the fences in the draft, or they could do a combination of both. This deal WORKS.
And to those of you that think I’m being a homer or being far-fetched, get out of here. Save your breath. The same type of shit happened last October when I told the Browns to go trade for Odell Beckham Jr.
Oh you’re an idiot! Oh this would never happen!
Oh no one wants OBJ in Cleveland? Okay, let’s send him back.
Folks the point is that I have vision. You all see in the now, I see in the future. And Russ Westbrook coming to Cleveland would be a great future for everyone involved. Both teams would benefit. Russ would play with his college teammate in Kevin Love. Cavs definitely make the Finals this year, and have a pretty good shot in the next couple. And they don’t really have to give away too much. We wouldn’t even have to mortgage the future for this. This is a no-brainer. I’m going to go call Dan Gilbert (I have his number).
