Matt Harvey Makes His Subway Series Debut
Some people say the Subway Series has lost its luster. That interleague play in New York has jumped the shark. Its the first year that they aren’t selling out and with the Mets being so far back in the standings and a lot of the Yankees stars on the DL, its maybe not the Clemens vs. Piazza type of rivalry from the past.
But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still pack that extra punch and it doesn’t mean that I don’t wanna see Matt Harvey carve up the Yankees tonight. I will always, always get a little more geared up for games against the Yankees. I hate them so fucking much I will relish any time they fail – times 100 if it comes at the hands of our new ace. And Yankees fans will try to be their cocky arrogant selves and say that regular season games aren’t a big deal to them but they are absolutely lying if they say they don’t care about beating the Mets. Tonight I would be absolutely thrilled if Harvey shuts down the Yankees. Yankees fans will rub it right in our faces if they knock around our Golden Boy. At the end of the year in the playoff push it may not have major implications, but tonight, Harvey vs. Kuroda, Mets vs Yankees is gonna be fun. Anyone trying to say its just another game and doesn’t carry any bragging rights just isn’t a big enough fan of either team.
PS – I like the nose bleeding, dip spitting version of Matt Harvey a lot better than the lover boy PDA version:
Have you learned nothing from Derek!! There will be plenty others, Matt.
