Sonya Curry Said She Will Flip A Coin Before Every Game To Decide Which Son Her And Dell Will Root For During The Western Conference Finals

ESPN- Dell and Sonya Curry have been traveling all over to keep up with their two sons this postseason. This is Seth’s first time playing in the playoffs in his five seasons, and his parents have traveled to Oakland, Portland, Los Angeles, Houston and Denver. Dell Curry says the only games they missed were road games at Oklahoma City and Game 1 between the Blazers and Nuggets in Denver.

“It’s going to be fun,” he told ESPN. “It’s going to lessen our travel schedule. That’s the biggest thing. We’ve been traveling quite a bit. It’s been fun, it’s been tiresome, but it’s about ready to get real now.

“It’s a first experience for all of us,” he added. “Biggest thing is we are trying to decide who represents who.” Sonya Curry has a solution for which parent will wear Blazers colors and which will wear Warriors gear. “We are flipping a coin every game,” she said.

Awww, what a cute and fair way to decide which son gets his parents undying support during what should be an intense playoff series!

Okay, now that I said that, we can all agree this story is bullshit, right? As a parent of two kids, I can tell you that all the times your parents said they loved all their children the same is true. However, the amount you like each kid varies by the minute and favorites change about as often as the the stock market. Then being in direct competition should mean they are literally playing for a chance to make the NBA Finals as well as their parents affection.

Obligatory clip from a Top 5 Simpsons episodes on my personal power rankings:

When push comes to shove, parents are going to root for their favorite kid and unless Steph is a complete asshole behind the scenes, he has to be the favorite. The Currys didn’t become the NBA’s First Family because Steph and Seth are sons to a former player. They became the First Family once Steph became a video game cheat code and the foundation for this entire Warriors dynasty. He is what brought Dell back into the conversation of being one of the best shooters of the 90s. He is the one that helped Sonya become the NBA’s Queen Bee after countless camera shots in the crowd. He is the one that probably got Seth his first contract just because you have to take a chance that the brother of the video game glitch has enough talent pumping through his veins to be a diamond in the rough, especially in today’s NBA.

The again, Seth is the person responsible for this gif, so I guess he isn’t all that bad.

Nonetheless, when that coin is flipped in the air, I know exactly which side both parents hope it lands on. You know how I know that? Because my daughter is my family’s Steph Curry and my son is our Seth. If they were in a competition, I sure as shit wouldn’t be rooting for the kid that is always crying, shitting himself, and acting like a general asshole over the girl that can dress herself, loves watching Marvel movies with me, and is always at the top of the Clem Kids Power Rankings.

So I imagine same type of thoughts are probably flying around in the Curry household right now during what should be a tough week or two.

Luckily for us viewers without any loved ones in the mix, we get to watch this series that should be fun and also have a bunch of Mama C TV time. Now kneel before your queen.
