Everyone's Favorite Last Chance U Star Ronald Ollie Has Signed With The Oakland Raiders

OLLIE!!!!!!!! This is so awesome. I wrote a blog a few months back about the Last Chance U Star, Ronald Ollie, putting up phenomenal Pro-Day numbers and putting himself in a position to potentially get drafted. Unfortunately his name wasn’t called at the NFL Draft but his NFL dreams are far from over. Today he signed a UFA (Undrafted Free Agent) Contract with the Oakland Raiders to come to rookie mini-camp.

Ollie was the lovable but lazy defensive lineman who was always in Miss Wagner’s office saying funny ass shit with a cheerful smile on his face. He ended up getting a full ride to Nicholls, left the program and went to Texas to start a rap career. Instead he ended up getting his head right, training his ass off and found his way back to Nicholls to have a great senior season in front of NFL scouts eyes.

Getting signed doesn’t make him in even the slightest bit a guarantee to make the team. If anything it makes him a long shot, but I’ve got a good feeling about Ollie. Putting his great personality aside he is a SUPER athletic interior defensive lineman who can rush the passer. It is a major premium in today’s NFL to have a guy that can shake things up and provide a rush up the middle.

Congrats to Ronald Ollie who by all accounts is a good kid who has battled an enormous amount of adversity to even have a chance to put on a NFL uniform. I’ll be rooting like hell for him and really hope I get the chance to watch him play on Sundays. Not to mention a guy that played at “Last Chance U” is a PERFECT fit for the Oakland Raiders.
