James Holzhauer Is Our New Jeopardy King After OBLITERATING The Record For Single Day Winnings
I haven’t been able to watch Jeopardy lately because of my kids, my #67in67 rewatch of Game of Thrones, baseball season getting underway, and just life in general. However, the last few days I had been hearing whispers about a super talented Jeopardy contestant the same way Angels fans whispered about a guy named Mike Trout bruising baseballs at A-ball in Rancho Cucamonga.
And last night was James’ coming out party. Just an absolute mollywhopping from the jump. Ruthlessly efficient with the regular questions, unfurling his giant dick brain then placing it on the table by making every Daily Double a true Daily Double (including a $25,000 DJ, which is the largest in show history), getting in his opponents heads by risking everything by saying “Window maximum” or pushing his chips all-in, and hunting for the all-time single day record the same way Portnoy hunts for an internet beef.
“I said all along that I wanted to break Roger Craig’s one-game record and I did it,” Holzhauer crowed.
By the time it was over, Roger Craig was nothing more than a smart guy that wasn’t even the greatest Roger Craig to compete on TV.
In case witnessing greatness wasn’t enough for you, the reason James bet what he did in Final Jeopardy was because he wanted to end up with $110,914, which signifies his daughter’s birthday of 11/09/14.
So not only is James smart as hell and have alligator blood pumping through his veins since he is a professional gambler from Las Vegas, but he also has a giant heart pumping that blood around his body chock full of trivia and fun facts (or based on his mannerisms and efficience, he may be a robot and that was merely the day his robot daughter was built).
Now James is a 4-time champion that has already accumulated a quarter of a million dollars in winnings and the 8th most money during regular play in Jeopardy history in less than a week. You can go on a hot run in Jeopardy if the questions or the game breaks right for you (like if you study Foods That Begin With The Letter Q nonstop and that actually appears as a category). But the advanced analytics say that James has a chance to be something very special as he rewrites the Jeopardy record books.
James Holzhauer, stats to date:
129 correct, 4 incorrect
8/9 on rebound attempts
49.34% in first on buzzer (112/227)
8/8 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $85,941)
4/4 in Final Jeopardy
Could we have the next Ken Jennings on our hands? Or could Ken Jennings’ streak be a mere blip on the radar compared to the train Big Game James is about to run on Jeopardy? Considering Alex Trebek may hang’em up soon, I am thrilled the Gameshow GOAT may be able to witness one more legend answer trivia in the form of a question while stacking up cash and pelts of his rivals before Trebek’s last show.
