Here's Another Angle Of The Avalanche In Colorado And It's Even Crazier

Fucking nuts. I said in my first blog about the Colorado avalanche that I wanted video from the cars that actually got swept up into the avalanche and there it is. We got it. That car got fully swept into and it covered the car in .2 seconds. It’s crazy how everything looks totally and completely normal and then boom everyone is buried in snow. Scary stuff.

In the first blog I asked how regular of an occurrence this in in Colorado. Well I’ve had a bunch of people who live or are from Colorado tweet at me that this is not a normal occurrence there. Apparently the folks who run Colorado have processes in place to stop giant avalanches from engulfing the highway which is good (when it works). I don’t understand how they do it but it involves using dynamite to safely trigger avalanches on their terms. That still doesn’t sound safe whatsoever but they know a lot more about avalanches than I do.
