Quavo Talked So Much Shit From The Stands That It Cost The Hawks A Game Vs The Pistons
[The Athletic] - As the story goes, Quavo was chirping … a lot. All night long, Pistons rookie Bruce Brown kept hearing how he couldn’t guard fellow rookie Trae Young, who finished with 30 points and 10 assists. It explains why Brown veered over to the Atlanta rapper’s corner when he hit an and-1 floater midway through the fourth quarter. And then, 40 seconds later, got a deflating rebound off an Andre Drummond missed free throw and followed that with an in-your-face 3, which was accentuated with a tongue-out pose back in the corner where Quavo was momentarily silent.
“Quavo started talking and saying I couldn’t hold Trae,” Brown said after the game. “I just did what I needed to do. It was fun.”
The NBA, man. It’s the easiest sport in the world to cover because there’s ridiculous shit happening night in and night out. Will this person leave? What’s LeBron doing? How is Kyrie trolling? What rapper sitting courtside is talking so much shit that it cost a team a win?
It’s beautiful.
Personally, I love this. If someone is going to talk shit to you, you run your mouth back to them, especially if you win. I love that Reggie Jackson rolled the ball to Quavo once the game ended. Give me that night in and night out – it helps for content too, who am I kidding.
All I know is I need more Quavo vs the Pistons. This could be the Reggie (fuck him) vs Spike Lee of the new generation. I need this to happen across every arena. Have a courtside heckler and see how it turns out. Let’s see what teams adapt and talk shit right back and let’s see what teams cower.
