“Every Day I Wake Up ABOVE Ground, Is A Good One” Happy 85th Birthday To The Legend That Is Bill Russell

I couldn’t let the day pass without giving a proper happy birthday shoutout to the man, the myth, the legend that is Bill Russell. Sure he may have turned 85 today but he doesn’t look a day over 70. Not only was he the only human to ever live who could shut down Wilt Chameberlain, but he’s also figured out how to combat aging. We’ve had some health scares over the last few years but if you ask me he looks better than ever in that cake video. The fact that he didn’t pass out after blowing out all those candles is a huge win and wildly impressive. I even laughed at his fire department joke because I know he probably thought that killed in his head.

That’s also a pretty badass cake too with the 11 rings on top. Happy to see he’s still willing to flex when it comes to the whole 11 titles in 13 years thing. If any one of us were to have success like that I’d never shut up about it either. That cockiness is what makes Russell so awesome in my opinion.

One of the greatest players in NBA history, a guy who revolutionized the game and is widely considered the ultimate winner.
