The Oakland A's Calling Their Relationship With The Yankees a 'Fierce Rivalry' Is Nothing Short Of Adorable

Nothing and I mean nothing spells ‘fierce rivalry’ like Yankees vs. A’s. Nothing.

This tweet above is from five days ago, and it got such little interaction I’m just seeing it now. When I first saw it, the tweet had 2 RTs and 15 likes, it’s now up to a whopping 28 likes after a little fun engagement I had.

Now I know the A’s have trouble drawing fans in general…

But guys we can’t just go around calling every team versus the Yankees a rivalry. I know it’s an attempt at a ticket seller, but come on. What’s the “rivalry?” You guys still mad about the Jeter flip? Oh Giambi touched home blah blah blah. You mad about us knocking the original Moneyball team out of the playoffs? Or last year when the best road hitting team in baseball and the best bullpen in the world got shutdown in the Bronx? In no way am I bragging about winning a wild card game because if you put on the pinstripes and lose your last game of the year the season is a failure, but what are the A’s doing here?

Adorable. And don’t get me wrong I like the A’s. I like what they have going out there and I truly felt bad when Kyler Murray fucked them over, but this is nonsense.
