Is Markelle Fultz Still In The NBA?

We all remember this right? It finally came out that Fultz had a real issue and was going to receive treatment in early December. The plan was for him to be back in 3-6 weeks, and I’m not great at math but a quick look at my calendar tells me it’s been 7 weeks since this report., and just the other day we got an update from Woj on the whole situation

No timetable to return? An eventual return this season? Um, it’s already almost February so what the hell is going on? To be honest I sort of forgot about Fultz until I saw his reaction to a James Harden airballed three

Excuse me? Who is he to laugh at ANYONE for something that happens on then basketball court. The same person who does this from the FT line is clowning a guy who could be the two time MVP and is on a tear not seen since Wilt?

All while somehow STILL not being ready to play and showing no signs that he is even close? That’s a tough look. Honestly I’ve said it time and time again, I’m rooting for Fultz. I want him to come back and actually be good so that the Celtics/Sixers can actually have a rivalry. Sure it’s fun beating them every time they play but that probably wouldn’t change even with Fultz back. I just want to see the kid play, and this story continues to make less and less sense the more time goes by. If they were able to diagnose his issue, gave him treatment, how could there be no timetable for his return after all the time? Is he healing slowly? Is he not even really hurt? Are the Sixers afraid to play him because he stinks? What is it?

If I’m a Sixers fan, I don’t know how you could be cool with this. Your team is finally good, but the one thing it needs is guard depth. TJ McConnell can only get you so far, you need your #1 pick to actually be on the floor. How can he be ready for a playoff series if he doesn’t actually play? If he still isn’t back after the All Star break at what point do more questions start getting asked? The Sixers have hopes of making it to the Finals, and if Fultz isn’t a part of their plans then what are they doing? This is by far the most bizarre story in the league this year, and it’s crazy that we are almost at the All Star break and we still haven’t seen him play since November 19th.

I’m not sure what part of the Process this is, but it’s certainly turning out to be a complete disaster.
