UMass Lowell Surprised Connor Bennett With A Scholarship After Thinking He Caused An NCAA Violation For Ordering 'Embarrassing Movie Titles'
I saw this float around this morning and it’s worth talking about, because, well, you guess it. It’s awesome, as these always are. But, this one might be my favorite one yet. We’ve seen teams use cops. We’ve seen teams come out and just blurt out you’re on scholarship after making a free throw. We’ve seen all different surprises. But, I haven’t seen one yet where the coach makes you think you caused an NCAA violation for ordering ‘embarrassing movies’ for $56 in your hotel room.
Let’s be honest, we all know what embarrassing movies are. He’s talking about porn, folks. Now here’s where there may be a difference in generations. Who is ordering $56 in porn, excuse me, embarrassing movie titles, when you have the Internet? Either way you’re in a hotel room. We all listened to Power 85 this week with what everyone does in hotel rooms. Things happen.
So I can understand how you think you’re in trouble. You freeze when you get a disappointed tone from a coach or parent. But, shout out UMass Lowell here and shout out Connor Bennett. He’s a redshirt junior from Wilmington, Mass., that’s scoring 1.0 ppg this year. He averaged 4 and 2 last year.
