Take That, LeBron! Cavs Snap 12-Game Losing Streak in Win Over Lakers
Okay, so LeBron didn’t even play in this game. But that makes the point I’ve been making since June even stronger. LeBron James does not care about winning basketball games. If he did, he would’ve stayed in the Eastern Conference. I’m not saying that he had to stay in Cleveland, but taking his talents to Philly would’ve guaranteed another 8 straight Finals appearances to go along with his previous 8. But instead he showed the world that he is done with the competitive aspect of his career, and he headed out to Los Angeles to focus on making his mark in the entertainment industry. And oh what a treat that has been for everybody!
So while King James and his ingenious, innovative idea of sitting around and talking while getting your haircut is surely going to take off into something huge, the team that he plays for on the side continued to show tonight that they STINK without him. This is probably a familiar feeling for James, seeing as Cleveland was terrible without him too, but watching a tanking Kevin Love-less Cavs team come into Los Angeles and beat the Lakers could not have done much to help justify to LeBron that he’s better off out West. The team wins (sometimes) with him, and they have no chance without him. They’re a 1st round exit at best. Since LeBron’s left groin injury on Christmas Day, the Lakers have dropped 7 of their last 10 and are now only holding onto a playoff spot by a tiebreaker over the Jazz.
Oh how the mighty have fallen! LeBron used to be able to waltz into the playoffs by playing on cruise control the entire regular season, but he could turn on the switch to carry his team to the Finals where he’d have a punchers chance. Now he needs to come back from injury ASAP or he’s going to find himself hanging up the sneakers in early April instead of mid-June. At least he’ll be able to produce more great content with his newfound free time!
Contains mature language, indeed! LeBron has changed from the classy, charitable Akron man I knew to becoming some sort of alcoholic, loose-lipped West coast man. Maybe he’s becoming an LA free spirit. However you want to be remembered, LeBron! But speaking of mature language, I do have one question for the 9-35 Cavs going into Los Angeles tonight and coming home with a victory…
What are we doing?????? Folks we are on Operation TANK right now. Zion Williamson is down at Duke doing 360 dunks mid-game and we’re trying to pick up ROAD WINS? I know this game meant a lot in terms of LeBron leaving and such, but let’s keep our eye on the prize here. This was a must lose game! We’ve been building a great lead at the bottom of the standings, and this win has left the door wide open for the Knicks, Bulls, Suns, and Hawks of the world to get right back into the cellar!
We had a 12-game losing streak snapped tonight because of our selfish motives. 20 points from Cedi Osman? 15 points and 14 rebounds from Tristan Thompson? All 5 starters with at least 15 points? Put the team first for me one time, boys. YOU PLAY TO LOSE THE GAME.
