We're onto our last Ken Griffey Jr Monday of 2018, what a ride it's been. We close out this year with a sentence that was very strange to type. Griffey homering twice against the Mariners. I've talked about it a dozen times, it's so weird to me that there are people out there that only remember Griffey as an injured Reds player, same thing with people who only remember Michael Jordan as a Wizard. That just doesn't sit well with me.
Gotta love seeing the Seattle fans stand and give Griffey the standing "O" as he returns as a Red. His first home run against them wasn't anything special, in fact, he thought it was caught, a lot of people did. He was ready to head back out to the field he was so sure it was caught. The next homer was vintage Griffey. Towering fly ball to right with the trademark bat drop and walk to first. So classic. Again, all the fans cheering and throwing their hands in the air when they see it's gone was fantastic.
