'Twas The Night Before World Juniors
All across the world, people were mistakenly celebrating Christmas a day early. Now don’t get me wrong. Jesus’ birthday is pretty neat and everything. It’s a decent enough reason to celebrate. But let’s be real with each other. Jesus would have been a total bender out there on the ice. Sure he could walk across water, but could he skate across ice while dangling defenders straight to the emergency room with broken ankles? Sure, Jesus could turn water into wine. But could he snipe a rubber puck into the back of twine? All I’m saying is that if we’re going to be celebrating anything this holiday season, it’s the fact that the 2019 World Juniors gets going tomorrow afternoon with 4 games on the schedule.
First up it’s Switzerland vs Czech Republic at 4pm. Then Team USA gets their tournament underway at 6 against Slovakia. Up after that is Denmark vs Canada at 8 and finally we wrap up day 1 with a Border Wars between Finland and Sweden at 10.
I know it’s always difficult to sleep the night before Christmas so for some light reading to help you rest your eyes, here’s all the World Juniors Preview content you need in your life.
Group A Preview (Canada, Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland, Denmark)
Group B Preview (Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Kazakhstan)
See you all tomorrow with a final prediction blog and the USA vs Slovakia live blog. Let’s have ourselves a week. Love you all.
