The First Images of Will Smith As The Genie In 'Aladdin' Are....Something

If you haven’t seen the teaser yet either, here it is:

Right now, the Will Smith visual is getting a TON of heat online. Personally, I think it doesn’t look bad! Considering how much everyone bitched and moaned about how the Lion King “Wasn’t live action!!!!!” it’s pretty surprising that the same crowd has now flipped and said they’d rather a CGI Genie. Do you know how god awful that would look? I think this cast and crew has the ability to make a true to form remake of a Disney renaissance classic, and you should give it a chance too. I will say, though, Smith’s hair and beard combo is just absurd. The top knot of hair on head looks like Bono’s turd from South Park.

It stars Will Smith (After Earth), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers), Billy Magnussen (The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Mena Massoud (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Marwan Kenzari (The Angel), and Nasim Pedrad (SNL). Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, RocknRolla) is directing and co-wrote the script with John August (Big Fish).
