HEEEEEEEE'S BAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!

HIT THE MOTHERFUCKING MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!

Did Brodie do it again or did Brodie do it again? Putting every Mets fan back on the Familiacoaster as they were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads is as close to a showstopping move as you will get when signing a setup man. A bunch of Familia’s biggest critics are in a pickle too because they spent years saying they hated him then complained for days about the lackluster return the Mets got when trading him to Oakland and now wake up with Jeurys Familia back in their lives. Brodie Van Winklevoss is such a crazy motherfucker, I think I’m actually starting to like him.

In all seriousness, I do like this signing no matter how many heart attacks Jeurys Familia gave to myself and my Mets fan brothers and sisters over the years. For all the shit we gave him, Familia was a good pitcher wtih a career 2.73 ERA that could be lights out just as easily as he could be lights on (lights on as in lighting the Mets house on fire with everybody still inside). Bringing Familia back as closer may have killed myself and millions of other Mets fans over the next three years. But bringing a hoss with the stuff of Familia back to setup a pitcher that is being hailed as one of the best in baseball is great. Bullpens are so up and down, you figure the rest of the Mets bullpen HAS to be better this season just because it couldn’t get any worse. And if the young starters continue to blossom under Dave Eiland and Mickey Callaway, we may have a dominant pitching unit from beginning to end. Reuniting Andrew Miller and Callaway wouldn’t hurt this narrative either nor would acquiring a decent catcher that can call a good game that doesn’t cost Noah Syndergaard or any of our young talented outfielders. The bottom line is I am very happy about this signing, even though I know Familia will have me ready to make a bleach cocktail no later than April 15th next season.
