Todays Barstool Radio Recap: I Hate That I Had To Drag Poor Bobby Menary All Over the Internet

Ok first things first for those who don’t know who Bob Menary is he is a fairly well known Instagram guy. He has 1.5 million followers and does satirical play by play voice overs of sporting events. He’s become very popular almost overnight.  However despite Bob’s recent rise to stardom I’ve known about him for almost a decade. He first caught my attention back in Boston when he was making man on the street videos. Eventually he went to Bridgewater State and tried to make a Girls Gone Wild style video in the name of Barstool Sports. I got so many complaints from students that I literally had to write a blog about how Barstool was not there and that Bob didn’t work for us and we had nothing to do with him. A caller literally called into Barstool Radio who was at Bridgewater when it happened and his version of events is 100% the truth.

Well fast forward a decade and suddenly Bob Menary has become instgram famous and once again wanted a job at Barstool. I met with him probably 6 months ago but we couldn’t agree on a salary. I probably shouldn’t have offered him anything because I found him to be an insufferable egomanic who couldn’t go five seconds without name dropping an athlete, but I couldn’t deny his following so I put my better judgement aside and made him an offer. Like I said he turned it down, but that didn’t stop him from constantly texting me about how I was making a mistake and he was the best thing since sliced bread etc. If I didn’t know better I would have thought I was texting with DiCaprio on how important he made himself sound. Finally I had to tell him to stop texting me so much.

That brings us to today. Today I wake up with a text from a good friend of mine asking if I know who Bob Menary is. I asked him why and my buddy says he sat near him at a Celtics Bulls game and he was absolutely trashing me to the point my buddy had to speak up and say we were friends. I actually was pretty surprised by this because up this point I had always been cordial to Bob even though I didn’t really like him. Then I hear this. That he’s trashing me in private while begging for a job basically at the same time. Well fuck that. So today on the radio I started ranting about it and eventually Bob called in. I think it’s safe to say I put him in a bodybag.

And of course Bob responded with this tweet which is the most Bob Menary thing ever….

We get it Bob. You harass famous people till they acknowledge you. Now I’ll say the same thing I said to him when he turned down a job here the first time. Good luck Bob. Worry about yourself and not us. You’re doing great. No need to keep talking about me.
