I'm Pretty Sure My Dog Fenway Is Going To Die Because The Red Sox Are In The World Series

I’ll start off by saying this post isn’t supposed to make you sad so please try and hold back the tears. I’m also not here to tell you that I’m some ginormous Red Sox fan because that is not the case (I’m a Mets fan) although I am rooting for them. This is merely a theory that I have about my dog Fenway. In 2004, my dad said if the Red sox came back and beat the Yankees that he would be so happy he would get us a dog and name it Fenway. Sure enough, the Red Sox won and on Christmas morning I woke up to my first dog, a Teacup Maltese. I’ll be honest, when I woke up on Christmas morning I went straight to my presents and didn’t see the dog. Since then I don’t think he likes me very much but I still love him. It’s been 14 years now and Fenway is getting OLD. I mean like he won’t get up from the couch and basically doesn’t like to do any activity whatsoever. This has been going on for the past year. The vet even said that he is equivalent to a 400 pound man. Usually people get really sad talking about their dog getting old, and trust me it makes me sad as well but sometimes you just need to accept it.

So this brings us to my theory. Since the start of the playoffs I’ve been saying that I think the Red Sox are going to win the World Series and my dog is going to pass away with one more Red Sox world series win under his belt, going out the same way he came in. Now that may sound fucked up to you, but I think my dog going out a champ would be awesome. I also have come to grips with the fact that he is very old and doesn’t look well. I mean I texted my parents the other day to ask how he was feeling and this was the response I received

It sucks because I want the Red Sox to win but I also don’t want my dog to die. I also realize that whenever I tell people this theory it makes them wildly uncomfortable because they don’t know if they should feel bad or laugh. It just all makes too much sense. In honor of Fenway I feel like it would be rude to not at least include a picture of him. Enjoy
