Source - Paula Abdul took quite a spill on Saturday. While performing in Biloxi, Mississippi, at the Hard Rock Live, Abdul fell head-first off the stage.
Fan footage of the snafu wound up on YouTube. The clip shows Abdul, 56, performing her early ‘90s single “The Promise of a New Day,” when she marches toward the front of the stage. Modal Trigger
Perhaps not seeing the edge, she overstepped and fell over into the crowd. Her fall caught concertgoers off-guard, drawing audible gasps from the audience.
A rep for the star told us, “Paula is fortunately not injured and was able to continue the show.” Saturday’s show was just her third concert in her “Straight Up Paula!” tour.
Thank God. I thought this was going to be the return of Paula Pills. I’m not going to make fun of her past substance abuse issues, but when I hear someone say, “fell off stage,” I automatically think about the mystery cocktails that she used to (allegedly) enjoy during tapings of American Idol.
Judging from the video that doesn’t appear to be the case. I think this was just a misstep. One that Abby Lee Miller would’ve ripped her face off for. You need to be aware of the stage, babe. Being rusty isn’t an excuse for taking a tumble, just like being dumb isn’t an excuse to sit on people-furniture while house shopping in LA.
Despite the audible gasp from the audience, Paula wasn’t injured and was able to finish the concert for the people of Biloxi Mississippi, who may or may not think she’s still on her 1991 “Under My Spell Tour.” I’m not sure if the internet has reached that far south yet. Whatever the case, I’m glad everyone was able to enjoy the rest of the show. Hopefully this doesn’t discourage Paula from performing in the future!
