MTV Is Bringing The Real World Back On Facebook And Will Have Seasons In Mexico, Thailand, And The U.S.

Deadline- The Real World is heading to Facebook after MTV and Bunim-Murray Productions struck a deal with the social media giant. The show will launch on Facebook Watch as part of a landmark deal with MTV Studios and the Banijay-owned indie.

Facebook Watch is launching three seasons of the show, one in the U.S., one in Mexico and one in Thailand. Production is underway for a spring 2019 release.

Just when I was about to deactivate my Facebook so no hackers could end up with pretty much every bit of my personal information outside of my fingerprints, Mark Zuckerberg goes ahead and and promises to show me what happens when people to stop being polite and start getting. Well played, Zucky boy.

Now I’m a Challenge guy through and through. The Real World was when MTV got into the reality show game and The Challenge is where they perfected it. That simple. But without the Real World, there is no Challenge. There is no CT, no Johnny Bananas, no Coral, no Tony, and no (insert your favorite least favorite of the merry band of misfits that drink, fuck, and compete). And at it’s best, the Real World was just as good for drunken debauchery as any show on TV. So I’m happy they are bringing back the OG after it kinda lost it’s way the last couple of seasons by becoming some sort of Real World with a mega twist Frankenstein. And bringing it back in the good ol’ US of A as well as two absolute wildcard places like Mexico and Thailand is flat out brilliant. If Barstool and Big Dick Chernin have any pull at MTV, we will get Donnie in that Thai house no questions asked. And even if they don’t, I know the Stoolies will get him in.

The new seasons will solely be distributed on Facebook Watch and include interactive and social tools. One is voting, which lets viewers vote on one housemate to appear on the show before it airs, according to Viacom.

*Donnie I apologize if you have no interest in joining a house full of 20-something crazy people, but the content would be gold.

I don’t even care that it is on Facebook instead of regular ass TV since everything I watch is on DVR anyway. In fact I kinda like that it’s on the internet since the internet doesn’t have the same rules as TV. I’m not saying we are going to get the uncensored Real World that people have been asking for since Real World 1. But I am saying we have a better chance of getting the uncensored Real World that people have been asking for since Real World 1. I guess that part is up to Zucky and how desperate he is to get ratings on Facebook Watch. And based on the recent stories about Facebook in the news, I’m sure he won’t mind dipping into people’s privacy.
