Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Beat Cancer.

Some of you may already know and some of you probably don’t, but I’m a cancer survivor. Melanoma, to be exact.

My story is a crazy one. Long story short, I was covering a game in Oxford, Mississippi and a woman noticed something wrong on my back from in the stands. She tracked my phone number down a week later to tell me she was worried about it. (What a weird move, right?). It ended up being full blown cancer. Fast forward a month later and I was having my first major surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She literally saved my life.

(If you want to read more about it, I’ve written a couple of pieces for MD Anderson and LIVESTRONG.)

Next month marks five years cancer free for me. I’m still monitored very closely and even when there have been some scares that it’s back, I know I’m in the best hands possible. Remission is something that I’ll never take for granted. No matter what I do, being a cancer survivor will always be my greatest accomplishment.

This month is breast cancer awareness month. All proceeds from the sale of “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Beat Cancer” shirt will go to the “Fuck Cancer”. I didn’t want to create a shirt for just one type of cancer though. I wanted to create something that embodied the fighters and those fighting with them everywhere.

No matter the severity, the stage, the type, the battle: We can do this together. Every single dollar from this shirt will go to finding a way to beat this thing. So buy, buy, buy.

Fuck Cancer.
