How about this fact? All 8 pairings are first-time pairings. That is crazy.

I’m going to give my knee-jerk predictions on these match ups. These aren’t biased these are just my honest first instinct thoughts.

Match 1: Finau/Koepka vs Rose/Rahm

Match 2: DJ/Rickie vs Rory/Olesen

Match 3: JT/Spieth vs Casey/Hatton

Match 4: Tiger/Reed vs Molinari/Fleetwood

Think we should be favorited in every match, but the first (Finau/Koepka vs Rose/Rahm) and the fourth (Tiger/Reed vs Molinari/Fleetwood) seem like the toughest. Rose/Rahm are are ranked no. 2 and no. 7 in the world. Molinari is the champion golfer of the year and Tommy Fleetwood won the French Open on this golf course.

Surprised they paired Rory with Olesen and not a seasoned vet. There’s a Euro rookie in every pairing — clearly Bjorn wants to get their feet wet.

The healthy scratches (rip) are interesting:

USA: Phil, Bryson, Bubba, Webb.

Euro: Poulter, Stenson, Noren, Sergio.
