Erik Karlsson Looks Fantastic As A Member Of The San Jose Sharks And The Rest Of The NHL Should Start Getting Worried

Erik Karlsson takes the ice for the first time as a member of the San Jose Sharks and I, for one, am starting to get worried and the rest of the NHL should too.

First things first, Karlsson is going to look fantastic in the Sharks colors. Just imagine once he starts surfing and hanging out with Jumbo Joe? Guy is going to be the biggest man rocket in the NHL.

Next, the fact Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns took the ice today as members of the same team is scary as hell. Playing against Brent Burns sucks. Playing against Erik Karlsson sucks. Playing against Erik Karlsson AND Brent Burns is going to really suck.

Let’s take a look at what the Sharks PP could look like:

Couture – Thornton – Pavelski

Burns – Karlsson

Are you kidding me? That is scary good. And the reason I put Thornton instead of Evander Kane is because Joey T has the chem with the boys. Put him down low or on the half wall and let him just dish out passes left and right.

What’s crazy is the 2nd PP unit is pretty loaded too and could look something like:

Donskoi – Hertl – Meir

Vlasic – Kane

Which is pretty good as well. I mean, not many teams in the league are good enough to have a PP that has Evander Kane on the second unit.

The crazy part of all of this is, there will never really be a point in the game for the Sharks where Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson or Marc-Edouard Vlasic isn’t on the ice. That’s insane. We are talking about two of the best defenseman in the game + a top 20 defenseman, always on the ice. 60 minutes of a shutdown defenseman being on the ice. Holy shit that is going to suck to play against.

Good look to the Pacific division this season.
