I Will Never Drink Whiskey Again
Metro UK – Grace Jones, the oldest person in Britain, is celebrating her 112th birthday tomorrow. She’s known to her friends as ‘Amazing Grace’ and she says that the secret to her long life is knocking back a dram of whisky every day for the last 60 years. Her nightly tipple is a measure of Famous Grouse. Grace was born in 1906, the year that the world’s oldest gas balloon race was first held and suffragettes disrupted the State Opening of Parliament.
Originally from Liverpool, Grace came into the world just five years after the death of Queen Victoria. She’s survived the first and second world wars and lived through 26 prime ministers.
She says: ‘I never miss my night cap. All I have is the whisky at night. ‘Whisky is very good for you. ‘I started having a nightly tot of it when I turned 50 so I’ve been having it every night for the last 60 years and I certainly have no intention of stopping now. ‘My doctor said “keep up with the whisky Grace, it’s good for your heart”.

Well, cross that one off the list. Not going to catch me drinking whiskey ever again. I had just come around to trying to expand my pallet when it comes to drinking, trying to really get into finer bourbons and whiskeys and the like, but nope, that’s completely out the window now. Just too risky. You start having an old fashioned here and there instead of a beer, and next thing you know you’re still alive an entire century later. Hah, no thank you. Poor Keith is going to live til 150 if he keeps this up.
So there you have it. Make sure to get plenty of sleep
and do not drink whiskey. Those are the keys to the game.

PS: Me-ow!
Just glad she did drink the whiskey. Man, the things I would do to spend a night with those old bones. Probably would even go into her closet and pull out her steam pow…ahem, nevermind. Uncouth.
