The Dude A-Beds With Yoko Ono & Ringo Starr
This week at New York’s City Hall the Dude climbed into bed with Ringo Starr & Yoko Ono.
The reason? An annual “Come Together: NYC” event.
No, completely different & unrelated to that sort of coming together.
It was an event for NYC students and this year’s theme was “activism”. Part of that involved a recreation of John Lennon & Yoko Ono’s honeymoon “Bed-In Protest” during the Vietnam War in ’69. For a quick refresher on that:
Honoring John Lennon’s legacy of non-violent protests for ‘world peace’, students carried signs & sang “Give Peace A Chance” while Starr, Ono & Bridges hung out on a sponsored mattress. Afterwards students could check out The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus that “provides hands-on creative experiences to students of all ages.” A mobile spot where they can write/record/produce original songs, videos & live productions.
I’m not 100% sure how Jeff Bridges got into the mix on that but it seems like he’s just the kind of dude who does good things all over.
