The Phillies Lost As The Tying Run, A Pinch Running Pitcher, Left Too Early On A Sac Fly

Well there’s something you don’t see every day. Or ever. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. This guy in the background looking up to the heavens, pleading, says it all.

Nevermind the Phillies squandered another absolute gem by Aaron Nola as he out-dueled Max Scherzer. Again. Nevermind they were up 3-2 going into the bottom of the 9th and then all of a sudden were down 5-3. Again. Wait, mind that. Mind that very much. The fact this team can’t hold ANY lead at ALL during their recent stretch of stench is very concerning from both a baseball and life standpoint. It should’ve never gotten to the point Vincent Velasquez was put out there to pinch gallop as the tying run on second base with one down in the bottom of the 9th. Sure, Velasquez should’ve channeled any fucking Little League player and not left before the ball was caught (actually he should’ve never went at all as you never, EVER make the first or third out at third base no matter what – ESPECIALLY TO END THE DAMN GAME). But, come on. It should’ve never gotten to that point. This team just plain out stinks right now.

At this point, the Phillies don’t deserve to make the playoffs. At least they stayed entertaining enough to get us to football season. The future is still bright, but there’s only so many of these damn nuttugging losses a set of sack can take before you just gotta cut ‘em off for the season.
