The St. Louis Blues New Third Jersey Gets An A+

The St. Louis Blues released a new “heritage” third jersey and I must say, it’s unbelievable. The jerseys design comes from the Blues 1967-1968 jersey, it takes on a lighter blue than the original color they use on their regular jerseys and features their original logo. The team released the jerseys at the Ice Breaker at ball park village today.

It’s great to see more and more teams releasing third jerseys, especially good ones. I feel like the NHL usually screws up when it comes to jerseys, and this summer they just keep hitting. Arizona, New Jersey, St. Louis are amongst the teams who have released new jerseys this summer with a throwback theme.

Hopefully we continue to see more teams release third jerseys, especially with the throwback trend.

The hilarious part of all of this is the players statements regarding the jerseys that the Blues released on their website. I’d be willing to bet every dime in my bank account that these players didn’t say or write this, this was so obviously written by the team it’s hilarious.

Vladimir Tarasenko:

“It’s nice we have a third jersey that’s connected to the team’s history. When you look at the past years, you see the players who wore this jersey before and it just gives you more responsibility. It’s more fun for fans when you have more than two jerseys, and I really like the design. I think fans will like it.”

Alex Pietrangelo:

“It brings back all the memories that you had as a kid, growing up and looking at old pictures of the Blues. It brings back that old-school staple and pays tribute to all those guys that have built this organization to get it to where it is. We’re here now because of them, and we can pay tribute to that. The fans, along with the players, will have a really good response to this jersey.”

Alexander Steen:

“This is my favorite jersey in the NHL. Period.”

Colton Parayko:

“Just the overall look of this jersey, especially how it pays tribute to the original Blues uniforms, is great. I loved wearing this look at the Winter Classic, and I look forward to wearing it again this season.”

Pat Maroon:

“That original jersey was one of my favorites growing up. Going back to that and wearing it at home is going to be pretty cool. I think the fans are really going to enjoy this jersey. It’s going to be a special feeling when I put that jersey on.”

Anyways, the team will wear the jerseys on these dates, so plan ahead Blues fans. You are definitely going to want to catch a glimpse of these in person.
