Let’s chat about Hamels real quick – the lefty is 4-0 in 5 starts with the Cubs posting a 0.79 ERA with 30 strikeouts against 8 walks over 34 innings including tonight’s complete game masterpiece. The man looks HUNGRY. And poised. But mostly hungry for another deep October run which is significantly more in reach with him throwing plus-plus changeups in front of this Cubs defense.

Speaking of DE-FENCE, anyone else think it’s funny the Cubs are averaging 1.5 runs against per game since Daniel Murphy came over? Anyone else find it weird the Cubs basically don’t give up runs anymore now that he’s on the field? Maybe just me but that’s not how this was supposed to go down. Oh well looks like the haters will have to find something else to hate because Murphy is clearly a game changer. Last guy to hit .400+ was Teddy Ballgame Williams and Murphy is already at .400 with the Cubs so something to keep an eye out for.
